William "Bill" Statham Obituary

Mankato, MN - William "Bill" Statham, age 86, of Mankato, died on May 9, 2025.

Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was born on January 7, 1939 in Mankato to John and Eleanor (Austin) Statham. He graduated from Mankato High in 1958. After high school, Bill joined the Army Reserve and served active duty at Fort Leonard Wood and Fort Chaffee. Bill was united in marriage to Renee Ziegler on January 19, 1963 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was a bricklayer for 43 years. He was President of the Local 11 for eight years. Bill retired in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and traveling. Bill loved his family and spending time with his grandsons.

Bill is survived by his wife, Renee of Mankato; children, David (Alexis) of Woodbury, MN, Susan (Brian) Salzle of Mankato, and Beth (John) Baker of Elysian; grandsons, Nicholas Salzle of Phoenix, AZ, Matthew Salzle of Eagan, MN, Jackson Baker of Rice Lake, WI, and Lucas Baker of Golden Valley, MN; and brother, Thomas Statham of Woodland, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Forsyth.
