William "Bill" Hanson, 74, of Lake Crystal died Thursday, March 24, 2015 at his home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, SOUTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm with Pastor Salim Kaderbhai officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. To leave an online condolence for his family or to sign the guestbook go to: www.mvfh.org Bill is survived by his wife, Norma Hanson of Lake Crystal; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Jim Amlie of Kasota; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell "Joe" and Debbie Hanson of Lake Crystal, Dennis "Swede" and Anna Hanson of New Iberia, Louisiana; nieces; nephews; extended family & friends; and his dog, Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Ross Hanson in 1998. William Arden Hanson was born on October 18, 1941 in Tracy to Arden and Gloria (Starr) Hanson. On April 24, 1965 he was united in marriage to Norma Wieland in New Ulm. Bill was employed at Honeymead Products in Mankato for forty two years. He was a founding member of the Northern Lights Select Appaloosa Futurity, raising and showing Appaloosa and Paint horses. Bill was a life long member of ApHC, APHA, AQHA. He was also a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Butternut Valley Township, Blue Earth County. www.mvfh.org
