Wells, MN - Shirley A. (Kipp) Vogelsang, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died peacefully Friday, August 28, 2026 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN at the age of 87. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm, Wednesday, September 2nd at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, at 6:30pm Shirley's family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in remembering and celebrating a life so generously lived and deeply loved. The visitation will resume Thursday, September 3rd from 10:00am - 11:00am at Nasinec Funeral Home; the funeral service will start following the visitation at 11:00am. Immediately following the service there will be a lunch in the Nasinec Event center. Pastor Wendy Browne will be officiating, and burial will be in Dunbar Cemetery following lunch. Shirley Ann was born on October 24, 1938, in Wells, Minnesota, to Gerald and Ethel (Roberts) Kipp. The second oldest of ten children, Shirley grew up alongside her five brothers and four sisters while living in Waldorf Minnesota and attending Waldorf School. She graduated from Waldorf High School in 1956.

It was during those high school years that Shirley met her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Vogelsang, the love of her life. On December 29, 1959, Shirley and Bob were united in marriage and began a life together that would span 65 years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, partnership, commitment, and simply enjoying life together. They lived, worked, laughed, and loved side by side every day.

Together, Shirley and Bob farmed and raised their family. Life on the farm was busy and full—dairy cows, chickens, walking beans, gardening, and raising their four children. Shirley gave herself wholeheartedly to her family and the work of their home and farm. She was someone who could always be counted on, no matter what needed to be done.

Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life. Shirley loved God and was a faithful and active member of Zoar's United Church of Christ. She served her church family in many ways, from teaching Sunday school, printing the Sunday bulletin to participating in the Women's Guild. She was always willing to help, quietly giving her time, talents, and caring heart wherever they were needed.

Family was Shirley's greatest joy. She treasured gatherings, traditions, and the simple pleasure of being together. She especially loved the annual Kipp Fishing Trips and annual Cookie Bakes, where family came together to make memories, share stories, and laugh. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow.

Shirley had a special way of showing her love through the things she made and the food she shared. Many will remember her wonderful baking and, most of all, her special cookies and candies. A holiday simply wasn't complete without one of Shirley's desserts or a baked good from one of her famous "goodie trays." And if you were planning an event or gathering, you could count on Shirley offering to make the potato salad, chicken noodle soup, or whatever else was needed. She never seemed to wonder whether she should help—she simply wanted to know what she could do.

Shirley also enjoyed reading, crafting, ceramics, embroidery, and photography. She loved the beauty of nature, especially monarch butterflies, flowers, and birds. Hummingbirds and cardinals held a special place in her heart. She noticed the little things that brought beauty and joy to everyday life.

In their later years, Shirley and Bob enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. They appreciated seeing the beauty of the country, exploring new places, and, perhaps most importantly, visiting with family along the way. Whether traveling, sitting around a table playing cards, playing games, talking, joking, or laughing with friends and family, Shirley was happiest when she was surrounded by people she loved.

She had a warmth that made people feel welcome. She gave generously, loved deeply, and found joy in bringing people together. Her life was not measured by grand accomplishments, but by the countless everyday acts of kindness that made a difference—the meal prepared for someone, the cookies shared at Christmas, the helping hand offered without being asked, the laughter around a card table, and the love she gave to her family.

For 65 years, Shirley and Bob shared a life filled with love, work, family, faith, and countless memories. Their love story was one of devotion and companionship, and it is a part of Shirley's legacy that will remain in the hearts of those who knew them.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Ethel Kipp; her beloved husband, Bob; and their son, Brian, brothers: Bob Kipp, Dennis Kipp, Larry Kipp and sisters: Sharon (Ronald) Hanel, Sandy Kipp.

She is survived by sons, Mark (Sue) Vogelsang and Jeffery (Tricia) Vogelsang, and daughter, Lynette Vogelsang; grandchildren, Kayla (Nick) Lewis, Sandy (Bryan) Delahunty, Brandt (Tiffany) Vogelsang, Seth (Ali) Vogelsang, Marcus (Michelle) DiBrito, Jordan (Samantha) Vogelsang, Jenna (Jared) Hazel, Angel (Phillip) Brown, Andrew (Gaby) Vogelsang, Ben Vogelsang and 10 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Jerry (Rosie) Kipp, Jim Kipp, Jan (Marty) Tesch and Jeanne Kipp as well as many nieces and nephews.

Those who loved Shirley will miss her laughter, her generosity, her faith, her goodie trays, her special cookies and candies, and the way she always made sure everyone was taken care of.
