Robert Albert Stierlen, age 62 of Mankato died early Thursday morning, July 12, 2012 while working. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm at NORTHVIEW ~ North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Bob was born September 4, 1949 to Aloys J. and Marjorie A. (Loeffler) Stierlen in North Mankato. He graduated from Mankato West High School in 1968 and attended college at Mankato State. Bob was united in marriage to Josephine Jo Morgan on March 21, 1970. He honorably served ten years in the United States Air Force. Bob worked for Wonder Bread for 33 years as a route salesman. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved telling and listening to stories and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren. Bob loved the outdoors and reading as well. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Josephine Jo Stierlen of Mankato; daughter, Staci Jo Stierlen Marshall and her husband Ryan of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Abigail Grace and Owen Robert Marshall of Minneapolis; brother, Roger Pete (Patti) Stierlen of North Mankato; sister, Mary Jo Jo (Tom) Neubert of North Mankato; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Aloys and Marjorie.
