I was Paul's fifth grade teacher. One of my first classes at Monroe in North Mankato. His Dad Elmer, Paul and I went fishing and water skiing together a few times. We were neighbors in Langness Heights, N. Mankato and Bernice made the best homemade donuts. My sincere sympathy to Cherrrie and family as well as his family all. Will not forget Paul. He was too young to leave us. Joel Botten

So very very, sorry for your loss. I knew Paul well as we were growing up in Mankato. Best memories were of us attending church & Sunday School and being confirmed together at Our Saviors Lutheran.
Then as teens, while I had been working for several years at the Mankato YMCA, I watched and witnessed Paul develop into a extraordinary young racquetball player who showed a remarkable talent for the game at a very early age! Oh wow, he was phenomenal back then, to say the least! I can understand why his adult hunting friends would have nicknamed him “one shot Ikier”, because no matter who he was up against at the Y, it didn’t take long and his matches were over!

However, I will always remember his wonderful smile and the kindness and concern shown me and so many others throughout those years growing up in Mankato. It’s hard to loose a friend no matter what, and that’s what I feel as I share this with you.
