Hastings, Minnesota - Michael Jerome Latourelle May 18, 1942 - August 18, 2026

Michael Jerome Latourelle, 84, of Hastings Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Mike was born on May 18, 1942, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Lester and Evelyn Latourelle. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a lifelong member of the VA. He was also a lifelong Minnesota sports fan, proudly cheering on the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings, and Twins. Mike was a man who loved deeply and lived his life with his family at the center of it. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He treasured the time spent with those he loved and created a lifetime of memories with his family, including many vacations and adventures together. Mike's life was shaped by two great loves. He first married his high school sweetheart, Sue Stanton, on May 14, 1984. Their marriage was filled with love, family, and shared years that meant so much to him. Together they raised three daughters. Sue passed away on July 21, 2002, and her memory remained an important part of his heart and his story. In time, Mike was blessed to find love again with Sharon. After both had experienced the heartbreaking loss of their spouses to cancer, Mike and Sharon found one another and built a life together rooted in deep companionship, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They met in 2003 and were married on January 27, 2025. Their years together were filled with love, travel, and countless cherished memories. Their bond was a beautiful example of enduring love—two people who found each other and never let go. Mike was also a devoted dog grandpa and loved his beloved Bud Bud Choko, who held a very special place in his heart.

Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Melissa (Jesse) Latourelle, MiRinda Kovacs, Amy (Greg) Thies, Stephanie (Bob) Maxfield, Jenna (Chris) Holets, and Brooke Lembke; his grandchildren, Braeden (Yamilie), Nicholas, Mike (Alsi), Lydia (Max) , Joseph (Val), Joshua (Taylor), KayLee (Tanner), Lauren (Matt), and Beckett; and his 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Evelyn Latourelle; his sister, Pat Latourelle; his nephew, Todd Finnegan; his wife, Sue Latourelle; and his great-granddaughters, Hadlee Jo Maxfield and Harlow James Lembke. Mike leaves behind a family who will carry his memory, his stories, his love, and the many lessons he taught them for generations to come. His life was measured not only in the years he lived, but in the people he loved, the memories he created, and the lives he touched. Though he may no longer be here to cheer for his favorite teams, tell his stories, or share another family vacation, his love will remain a part of his family forever. Rest peacefully, Mike. You were loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 1:00PM at United Church of Mapleton in Mapleton, MN with a visitation starting at 12 noon. Reception to follow. Arrangements are with Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel.
