Martin Hugh Christianson Obituary

Lake Crystal, MN - Martin Hugh Christianson, 80, of Lake Crystal, passed away at home on May 2, 2026. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal, on Friday, May 8, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. A private interment will follow at Butternut Cemetery.


Marty was born January 25, 1946, and was a 1964 graduate of Lake Crystal High School and a 1968 graduate of Mankato State College. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-1971. He married Connie Langlie in 1972, and together they raised their family in the Lake Crystal area. Marty worked for Crystal Valley Co-op for 42 years.


A gifted carpenter and devoted landscaper, Marty enjoyed creating and caring for his home, land, and animals. Marty was devoted to his family, especially his wife of 54 years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting and school activities and was active in their lives.


He was a lifelong member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Butternut and later attended Zion Lutheran Church. He was also an active member of the Butternut Cemetery Board.


He is survived by his wife, Connie; sons Jesse (Kelli), Matthew, and Philip (Pamela); grandchildren and great grandchildren; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, siblings-in-law, and infant grandson, Owen.
