Martha M. "Mickey" Obituary
Martha M. "Mickey" Shultis, age 105, of LeSueur, Minnesota, and formerly of the Elysian area, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. She was born on December 12, 1905, at Waterville to Gustof and Elizabeth (Neuendorf) Meyer. Martha graduated from Waterville High School in May of 1924. She married Frank Shultis on December 16, 1927, in Waterville. After their marriage they owned and operated Beaver Dam Resort between Lake Jefferson and German Lake starting with 21 cabins. They resided on a 80-acre farm adjoining Hardeggars Ballroom. She is survived by her stepson, Donald Shultis of New Berlin, WI; brother Roland "Chuck" Meyer of Pequot Lakes; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Meyer of Waseca; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1976; brothers, George and Raymond and sisters, Charlotte and Henrietta. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur. Interment of cremains will be in the Our Saviors Lutheran Church Cemetery near Cleveland, Minnesota, and a lunch will follow at Our Saviors Church in Cleveland.
