She attended graduated from Madelia High School in 1954 and later moved to Reno, Nevada where she married Orville Bruns on January 28, 1961. They moved to Lamberton, MN where they raised their daughter Shirley and farmed and enjoyed growing large crops of cucumbers for market as well as apple trees. She loved canning cucumbers, beets and apple sauce. She never obtained a driver's license but worked from home babysitting for children of neighbors in the area. She found joy in sewing clothing for herself and family, and made doll clothes which she then enjoyed selling at flea markets. She loved writing and receiving letters and sharing pictures of family and made a point of keeping in touch with her family through regular phone calls as well as cards and letters containing an article that she was touched by and wished to share. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her best. Blessed be her memory.
