Marceria Hartwell (Midge) Obituary

Le Center, Minnesota - Marceria "Midge" Leigh Hartwell passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, at Central Health Care in Le Center, MN.

Midge was born on March 24, 1930, in Elkridge, West Virginia. She lived there with her parents, William and Grace (Price) Bobbitt and her 11 siblings until she met her husband, Harold Hartwell. They were married on July 10, 1948 in Elkridge, WV. Midge and Harold welcomed their son, Bruce Wayne Hartwell in 1949. Together they moved to Mankato, Minnesota in 1955 and welcomed their daughter, Carol Ann Hartwell in 1957.

Midge spent her life caring for others and making anyone feel welcomed in her home. Despite spending most of her life in Minnesota, West Virginia was always at the center of her heart. Midge was a beloved sister, wife, mother, friend and card player. Midge had a strong faith and is now reunited with her husband and son in Heaven.

Midge is survived by her daughter, Carol Wessman of Mankato, MN; grandchildren: Jessica , Angie and Michael; and brother, Ronald Bobbitt of Mount Carbon, WV.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bruce Hartwell; son-in-law, Daniel Wessman; and 10 siblings.

The family thanks Central Healthcare in Le Center, MN and St Croix Hospice for their attentive compassion and kindness.

Please send condolences to 100 Dublin Rd #2204 Mankato, MN 56001
