St Peter, MN - Lavonne Seely, 93 of St. Peter, MN died July 18, 2026. Her memorial service will be on Friday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church in St Peter. Burial with her husband Lewie will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, MN.

Lavonne Seely was born on November 2, 1932 to Harold and Ida White in Crosby, MN. She graduated from the St. Cloud State Teachers College in 1954 and taught elementary school prior to focusing on her family. Lavonne married her best friend Lewie on August 10, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Lavonne was a faithful and much loved member of the Union Presbyterian Church of St. Peter for 70 years where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. She was a creative artist, crafter and master gardener. She was an avid reader and enthusiastic book club participant. She was a founding member and sandwich maker at the St. Peter Food Co-Op. She loved playing cards and dominos with her family and friends.

Lavonne Seely is survived by her daughter Laura (Rev. Karl) Rydholm of St. Peter; daughter-in-law Debbie Seely of Albion, MI; son Thomas (Cheryl) Seely of Eagan, MN; five grandchildren: Siri (Matt) Broin, Anders Rydholm, Matthew (Elizabeth) Seely, Gregory Seely, and Dr. Kristin (Tyler) Holmvik; and four great-grandchildren: Rory, Leo, Josie, and Elise. She is also survived by her brother Harold (Marcia) White of Crosby, MN; sister-in-law Jean Seely of Cleveland, MN; brother-in-law Russell (Jean) Seely of Casselton, ND; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Viola and Linda; her son, Dr. David Seely; sister-in-law Marie (Gene) Schmidt of Philbrook, MN; sister-in-law Joan (Charles) Hagberg of Crosby, MN; sister-in-law Phyllis (Robert) Wendelschafer of Beaverton, OR; and brothers-in-law Douglas Seely of Ironton, MN and Richard Seely of Cleveland, MN.
