Shakopee - Sister Katherine Scheurer, SSND, 81, died August 29, 2026, at Benedictine Living Community - Windermere, Shakopee, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4 at Windermere Chapel, 1705 Windermere Way, Shakopee, with Visitation at 10:00; Sharing of Memories at 10:30; and a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00. Sister Katherine and her twin were born in 1945 in Mankato. She attended SS. Peter & Paul elementary school, and graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1963. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame that same year and professed first vows in 1965. Sister Katherine's primary ministry was service. She taught religious education classes; baked, cut and shipped altar breads; assisted with food service in the Good Counsel kitchen and dining room; provided transportation for sisters; worked as a receptionist for Good Counsel and other organizations; and was a choir member and cantor. Her main areas of service were Good Counsel Hill and the Mankato area, and various locations in St. Paul.

Sister Katherine is survived by her sisters in community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame and SSND Associates, her sisters Sister Mary Scheurer, SSM, and Carolyn (Jim) Rovney, her sisters-in-law Sylvia, Bev and JoAnn Scheurer and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Anastasia (Leonard) Scheurer; her sisters, Monica Scheurer and Jane Trondson; and her brothers, Brother Thomas,
