Jon C. Wersal
Jon Christopher Wersal, age 43 of Cannon Falls and formerly of St. Peter, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
Jon was born on July 22, 1976 in Mankato, MN, the son of Don and Chris (Campbell) Wersal. He grew up in St. Peter and graduated in 1995 from St. Peter High School. He went on to receive his Associates Degree from Hennepin County Vo-Tech for aircraft mechanics and was an aircraft technician for the past 25 years. He married Daitra Kominek in 1999, had three children and later divorced.
Jon married Johnna VanBoxel in Cannon Falls on September 14, 2019.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and share outdoor activities with his children such as many family four wheeler rides, throwing footballs to the kids, and listening to his stereo a little too loud. His favorite place in the world was at the hunting shack in Carlton County. Jon loved spending time with family and friends. He had a very special gift of walking into a room and making friends with anyone he ran into. He was known to speak his mind and was passionate on his viewpoints. He loved to dance, even though some may say he wasn't good at it, he sure tried his best! He was a talented mechanic and an avid Kid Rock fan! He would give the shirt off his back to anyone and do anything to see a smile on someone's face; whether it be a family member, friend, or complete stranger.
Jon will be remembered as an awesome husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grandson, and friend... he will be forever missed by many!
He is survived by his wife, Johnna; his children, Kylie, Bennett, Judd, Lexie, and Eastin, all of Cannon Falls; parents, Don and Chris Wersal of Cleveland; brothers, Ryan (Rachel) and daughter, Hannah of Crystal, and twin Jeff (Crystal) and their sons, Max and Jake of Lake Crystal; grandmother, Agnes Kopp of No. Mankato; parents-in-law, Lisa VanBoxel of Cannon Falls and Randy VanBoxel of Stockholm, WI; brother-in-law, Joey VanBoxel of Cannon Falls; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Tootie Campbell, Donald Wersal, Sr., and Jerome Kopp; very special uncle, Gary Wersal; and special friend, Mikey Riley.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, February 14 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 1:00 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Memory: Ryan, Jeff, Jon, myself, Bill, Kris and Kory sitting in the downstairs of Grandma and Grandpa's house in Goodhue listening to Ryan, Jeff and Jon telling jokes and laughing until it hurt. Thinking of the family in this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Jon. I was in the same class as he, Jeff and Daitra. What I remember about Jon was his sense of humor, and how close he was with his friends. Keep your memories of Jon close to your heart. They'll always be there.
Sincerely, Phedra
