JOHN "BUSTER" KAUPA, age 72 of Waseca died on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at his home in Waseca. Born on February 8, 1940 in Faribault, Minnesota he was the son of John and Dorothy (Peach) Kaupa. He was raised on a farm north of Waterville where he attended country school and Waterville High School. He married Janice Klatt on June 6, 1959 in Nashua, IA and they raised three children, Penny, John and Todd. He worked for his uncle, Gordon Peach, on the farm and also Backmans Poultry Company. In 1964 he went to work for Brown Printing Co. retiring in 2000. His passions were fishing, hunting, trap shooting, and his little dogs, Honey, Betsy, and Betsy #2. Buster also loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends, and time spent at the cabin. He was a member of the Waseca Sportsman Club and the NRA. He is survived by his wife, Janice of Waseca; daughter, Penny Flitsch of Rosemount; sons, John M. Kaupa of New Richland and Todd (Stephanie) Kaupa of Waterville; nine grandchildren, Melissa Flitsch, Earl (Amanda) Flitsch, Jared (Susan) Kaupa, Jessica (Wille) Schroeder, Cory Kaupa, Jennie Kaupa, Jordan Kunze, Nicole Kaupa, and Mollie Kaupa; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Blake Schroeder. He is also survived by one aunt, Anna Peach of Waterville; and two nephews, Robert (Paula) Kaupa and Nathan (Melissa) Kaupa. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marguerite Kaupa; brother, Richard Kaupa; and father-in-law and mother- in-law, Norman and Ruth Klatt. Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Victor Waters officiating.
