Jerome Carl 'J.C.' Lamont Obituary

Jerome Carl "J.C." Lamont left this world peacefully on April 22, surrounded bby his loving family. "J.C." was born in Elysian, Minnesota, on October 24, 1934, the second of the four sons of Theda and Sam Lamont, and lived in both Cleveland and Mankato. He married Sharon Casper in 1952, and began raising a family of three children. He worked for both the state of Minnesota and SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Mankato before being accepted into the U.S. Border Patrol in 1966. He attended the Border Patrol Academy in Brownsville, Texas, and worked as an agent in the Yuma, Arizona, area for 3 years. In 1969, J.C. became a U.S. Customs Inspector and was stationed at the Port of Andrade, where he worked on the Mexican border until 1986. In 1986, he relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he worked pre-clearance for international flights. In 1990, J.C. relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he worked at LAX on the Export Enforcement Team until 1994. While in Los Angeles, J.C., met and married his beloved wife of 19 years, Nancy. After his retirement in 1994, Nancy and J.C. moved to Sun City West, Arizona. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing, and reading. "J.C." was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Theda Lamont; and youngest brother, Jeff Lamont. He is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Mike (Nancy) and Chris (Anita); daughter Shawn (Kevin); brothers Jason (Pat) and Jim (Melva); 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. "J.C." was a wonderful husband and father. We will miss you, Dad! May angels lead you in. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley at www.hov.org.
