North Mankato, MN - Jason Michael Schuur, 44, of North Mankato passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2026 at his mother's home in Lakefield, MN.

Jason was born Aug. 27, 1981, in Waseca, MN to Jeanette and Michael Schuur. He attended school in Waseca MN and completed his schooling with a homeschool diploma.

Throughout his life Jason explored many careers including child care, elderly care, janitorial maintenance, agricultural labor, & catering. He was most proud of his accomplishments at Micro-Trak and opening the catering company with his wife.

Jason enjoyed fishing, watching movies & spending time with family and loved ones. He was known for his kind heart and generous nature. A fun loving spirit defined Jason through his life along with his love of the Minnesota Vikings.

Jason is survived by his father Micheal, bonus Mom Cheryl (Schuur), his Mother Jeanette, bonus Dad Mark (Schweim), his beloved brothers Mark Schuur, Terry Cords, Chris Cords, and Jeff (Sheena) Cords, his wife Karen, his adored children, Lykia, Malakai, Draven (Sky), Nevada, Sierria (Alex), multiple honorary children, his worshipped grandchildren Wyatt & Matilda, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins galore.

Jason was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Gladys & Jacob Schuur, maternal grandparents Lorayne & Earl Parker, maternal aunts Joan Maher & Phyllis Worden, 4 paternal Aunts & 6 paternal Uncles, sister-in-law Amber Cords, and his nephew Matthew Nelson.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Jason's honor Saturday, July 25th, 2026 at the Spring Lake Park Warming House, 650 Webster Ave., North Mankato, MN 56003, from noon until 5pm.
