Mapleton, MN - Jarrett G. Sharp, age 75, of Mapleton, MN, died on April 29th, 2025. He is buried at Belle of Sterling Cemetery.
Jarrett was born in 1949, to Everett Sharp and Donna Jean (Spear) Sharp. His parents had him baptized at the United Church of Mapleton. He grew up on the family farm in Sterling Township, graduated from Mapleton High School and then Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts (physics), earned a Master's Degree from Valparaiso University (history). He was a lifelong farmer, inventor, and problem-solver with an adventuresome spirit and dedicated work ethic. He spent many years curling at the Mapleton and Mankato Curling Clubs, where his skipping yell could be heard. He will also hold a legacy of saying the Gettysburg Address on Memorial Day.
Jarrett was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Ainsley Jean Sharp, and nephew, Jason Becker. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Corrie Sharp (sons, Andrew and William Meyer), daughter Carin (Thomas) Curran (daughters, Caitlyn and Cristyn Fraley), and son Ashley (Briana) Sharp (son, Cole Sharp). He is survived by 3 sisters: Carolyn (Jay) Becker, Josephine (Paul) Muske, and Genette (Stuart) Carleton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and true friends.
As per Jarrett's wishes, an outdoor celebration of life will be held on May 25, 2025, at 2pm at 55643 Ivory Road, Mapleton, MN 56065.
