Mankato, MN - Jane Carolyn Ralston (Schroeder) passed away peacefully in her home at The Pillars of Mankato surrounded by family on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born in Albion, Nebraska on June 24, 1933, to William and Olga Schroeder and was a lifelong Cornhuskers fan.

She grew up on the farm where she learned to work hard and be humble, but she also had a flair for fashion and loved to shop. Jane was married to Douglas Edmund Ralston on December 5th, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. They settled in Mankato, MN where Jane taught 1st grade at Roosevelt Elementary School for over 30 years. She was an outstanding teacher who loved her students, saw the positive in any situation, and brought out the best in every person who knew her.

After retirement, Jane and Doug enjoyed wintering in Surprise, Arizona, with many others from their large group of Mankato Friends.

Jane is survived by daughters Ann Reichert (Randy) and Kimberly Bertram (Michael); grandchildren Sam Bertram (Ann), Rachel Myers (Jamie), Bill Reichert (Brittney), and Dan Reichert (Bri); 10 great grandchildren who she adored; nieces Linnea Castillo (Al), Karen Nelson Putt (Vince), April Ralston, Yvonne Ralston; nephews, Chris Schroeder (Rachel) and Bruce Nelson (Staci) and countless friends including her best friend, Mary Lou Haldorson.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29th, 2026, at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 222 Pfau St, Mankato, MN. https://ctkmankato.org/. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Christ the King Lutheran Church of Mankato or PEO Chapter DA.
