Good Thunder, MN - Georgine Anderson of Good Thunder, MN died on June 10, 2026.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with a visitation one hour prior. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Georgine was born on December 6, 1921, in Garden City, MN to Harvey and Emma (Baumgard) Schickling. She was confirmed on May 20, 1935, and worked as a nanny, then an elevator operator at S&L Office Building for 4.5 years.

Georgine was united in marriage to Arnold Anderson March 5, 1946. They lived on a rural Good Thunder farm where she helped Arnold with the trucking business and the farm work. She remembered fondly raising many chickens and her favorite part, collecting the eggs. In 1964, they moved to Good Thunder. She was the bookkeeper and "Boss Lady" for Arnold Anderson Trucking until 1985. After that she enjoyed RVing, winters in Arizona, card playing, and polka dancing.

Georgine had a big garden with many flowers, fruits, and vegetables from which she did a lot of canning and made jams and jellies. Her pies were second to none and chocolate chip cookies were always found on the counter or freezer. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, bird watching, and patching many jeans and coveralls for her son and grandson. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Georgine drove her car and mowed her lawn into her late 90's and lived in her home until 2 days before her death.

Georgine is survived by her children, Linda Nelson and Robert (Vickie) Anderson; grandchildren, Tim (Laurie) Nelson, Matt (Michelle) Nelson, Jason (Adrienne) Anderson, Jennifer (Cory) Derry; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sara, Maddie, Cohen, Benton, Mila, Jaxx, Dieter, Alden, and Ayla.

Georgine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; son-in-law, Dan Nelson; and many friends and relatives.
