Mankato, Minnesota - Dorothy M. (Andrist) Knedel

Dorothy Marie Knedel, age 101, of Mankato, gave up her life on this earth, June 28, 2025, peacefully at her home.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2025, Bethlehem Lutheran Church Chapel, Mankato, MN. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd, MN. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy, the daughter of Walter and Minnie (Odeen) Andrist was born July 20, 1922, in Dennison, MN. She attended Mantorville High School, Class of 1940 and graduated from St. Paul School of Cosmetology in 1941.

Dorothy married Charles F. Knedel (the bosses' son) on November 4, 1944 at First Lutheran Church, Brainerd. After World War II, Dorothy and Charles moved to Mankato in 1950. Dorothy continued to work as a beautician in Mankato, working at Village Parlor, Julie's Beauty Shop and ended her career at Laurel's Edge at the age of 90 years.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Dorothy is survived by her one daughter, Lynn Manning; grandson, Jon Turinese; niece, Randi Sue (Mark) Kushke Riley; nephew, Tom Riley; grandniece, Alesha Kushke.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 1987; sister, Kathleen (Gaylord) Zelinske; and sister-in-law, Margaret Knedel Riley.
