Mankato, Minnesota - Longtime Hubbard Milling employee, Donald P. Adams, age 90, of Mankato, Minnesota passed away on June 17, 2025.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., August 6, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Donald was born May 11, 1935, to Timothy W. and Mary D. (Mathews) Adams in Waseca County, Minnesota. He graduated from Waldorf High School, and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1954. During his service, he qualified as an expert marksman, deployed to Okinawa, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1957.

On November 8, 1958, Don married Rosalie Kopischke at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. They were married for 66 years and raised three children: Tracy, Christine, and Timothy. While working for Hubbard Milling, they made several moves, eventually settling in Rapid City, SD for 32 years. Don was an active volunteer at Blessed Sacrament Church, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. He spent many happy hours crafting intricate wooden objects and works of art, golfing, and taking daily walks with Rosalie.

In retirement, he and Rosalie enjoyed many travel adventures, including cruises, visits to family around the world, and snowbirding in South Padre Island, TX.

Don is survived by his wife, Rosalie; children, Tracy (Glenn Rechtschaffen) of Auckland, New Zealand, Christine (Paul DeLaHunt) of Alexandria, VA, and Timothy (Michele) Adams of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Dan (Pan), Elise, Sylvie (Rubbel), Julia, Sarah (Cassie), Jack (Katie), and Elaine; sister, Mary Meurer; sister-in-law, Caroline Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents: brothers, John, Ray, Ambrose, and Jim; sisters, Eileen Atchley and Evelyn DeVine.

Donald, his love of family and friends, his easy smile and gentle wit, his ability to fix anything, his unwavering faith, and his famous cutting boards and wooden golf carts will be missed and remembered.
