Mankato, MN - Doloris Marie (Schroeder) Lamoreux, 79, of Mankato, MN, formerly of Vernon Center, Mapleton, and Minnesota Lake, MN; left this world to be with her lord on October 9, 2025 peacefully while asleep at her home.

Doloris was born on a farm in Benton County, Minnesota on July 6, 1946 to Martin and Irene Schroeder. Doloris married Gary Lamoreux on February 14, 1973. They had two children, Jennifer (Scott) Olson and Lillian Lamoreux. Doloris and Gary later divorced but remained lifelong friends.

Doloris graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1964, Humboldt Institute in 1964 with a secretarial degree, and South Central College in 1985 with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. She had a robust career with many and varied positions throughout the United States. Throughout her life she worked as a secretary for the Navy Department in Washington, DC, a transcriptionist for Aetna Insurance in Phoenix, AZ, she owned and operated the Florence Hotel in Winnebago, MN, worked as an Assistant Store Manager for a shop in Plant City, FL, and worked as an accountant for Stan A. Smith Jewelers and prepared taxes for H&R Block in Mankato, MN. Later, she changed focus to help in the mental health field to work to end the stigma of and advocate for those with mental illness. She became the Southeast Minnesota Regional Resource Coordinator for the Consumer Survivor Network of Minnesota. Doloris ended her working career as a teacher working at the Regional Treatment Center in St. Peter, MN, teaching the BRIDGES Course "Building Recovery of Individual Dreams & Goals through Education & Support" and running a mental health support group for patients with mental illness for 13 years.

Doloris was a strong woman of faith, passionate, patriotic, fierce, and incredibly kind. She loved reading, gardening, nature, cats, traveling, playing cards, putting together jigsaw puzzles, quilting, crafting, spending time with family and friends, and country western music. She was an engaged member of her church and of Mankato's Lifelong Learners.

Doloris is survived by her daughter: Lillian Lamoreux of Mankato, MN; sisters: Norma Schwarz of Minnesota Lake, MN and Donna Mae Olsen of Minnesota Lake, MN; sister-in-law: Carol Schroeder of Two Rivers, WI; brother-in-law: Eugene Kliniske of Grafton, ND; son-in-law: Scott Olson of Baldwin, WI; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Jennifer Olson; her parents; brothers: LaVern Schroeder, Kenneth Schroeder, and Lonnie Schroeder; sisters: Yvonne Yokiel, Lorraine Kliniske, and IvaLee Spires; brothers-in-law: Adrian Yokiel, Milt Olsen, Raymond Spires, and Maynard Schwarz; sisters-in-law: Marie Schroeder and Joyce Schroeder, a niece, nephews, and other dear friends along the way.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on October 18, 2025 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center, MN with Pastor Adam Finney officiating. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service starting at 10:00 A.M.
