Clarence Al Bruce Battey, 85, of New Richland, MN, passed away on Sunday March 2, 2025 at Owatonna Hospital.

A Visitation will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New Richland, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 4-6pm. Funeral service on Wednesday March 12, 2025 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN at 11am with visitation starting at 10am. Graveside committal service will be at a later time.

Clarence was born to Louis and Gladys Battey in January 1940 at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato, MN. He graduated from New Richland High School. He married the love of his life Eileen in June 1959. Besides farming his entire life, he also held other jobs as; pitching pea vines, tool and die department at E.F. Johnson's, ran a milk route picking up milk cans from farmers for Plum Valley Creamery in Waldorf. While at Year-Around Corporation in Mankato he did plant maintenance, delivered and set up exhibits at the state fair, and helped develop the quick hitch. He also made duck boats at Herter's in New Richland.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to swim, water ski, ride motorcycle and snowmobile, fish, hunt and reload his own ammunition. As a farmer, he practiced reduced tillage methods, did his own farm drainage tiling, was very mechanically inclined and could be quite creative in the shop.

Clarence very much enjoyed old time music and dancing and was a talented dancer. After retirement, he took great pleasure in spending winters in Texas. He was a long-time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by numerous family members and friends.
