Sister Paul Therese's Story
Sister Paul Therese Saiko, SSND, 83, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Good Counsel, Mankato. Her Funeral Mass is Monday, April 24, 10:30 a.m. in Good Counsel Chapel, with a Prayer Service at 9:00 a.m. Monday, followed by visitation until the funeral.
Sister Paul Therese was born in St. Paul in 1933. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in Mankato and entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1951. She professed first vows in 1954. In the Mankato area she taught at John Ireland, St. Peter (1954-56) and St. Joseph the Worker (1959-61). In 1968, she became director of novices at Good Counsel and in 1975 was elected to the SSND leadership council. From 1984 until her recent retirement she served in various capacities as a teacher and adviser at the St. Paul Seminary.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, and her sisters in community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
