Richard Lurth left this life on September 14, 2017, at Mayo Clinic, Mankato, Minnesota, age 82.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017, 3:30 p.m., at Holy Communion Episcopal Church, St. Peter, Minnesota.
Richard grew up in St. Peter and was a 1957 graduate of Gustavus. He served in the US Air Force 4 years.
Building and repairing pipe organs since he was 14, Richard formed the Lurth Organ Company in 1969. he was an established master of his trade and worked on many historic instruments throughout the Midwest. In his later years, he was also a USDA Inspector for food processing facilities.
Richard is survived by his brother, William (Rosalie) of Minnetonka, Minnesota, James (Marilyn) of Minersville, Utah, and Diane (Paul) of Rockaway, New Jersey, many nieces and nephews and his cat, Pho-Pho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara and brother-in-law Duane Bolton.
