Text size

Richard M. 'Dick' Dahn passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 2, 2017.
Dick was born on December 6, 1940 to Marlin and Helen (Chamberlain) Dahn. He graduated from LeSueur High School in 1958 and served in the US Armed Forces from 1959 to 1962. Dick worked for forty-one years at Green Giant/Silgan Corp in Savage, was an avid fisherman, hunter, and antique collector. After retirement, he especially enjoyed baking pies and spending time with grandkids. Dick was an incorrigible storyteller and jokester, always with a twinkle in his eye and sharing his infectious laugh. Some of the many people who will miss him include his wife of fifty-seven years, Judy (Drenckpohl) and his children, Rick (Cindy) Dahn, Kim (Steve) Hammes, Kris (Paul) Hank, Randy (Imogen) Dahn and Kendra (Jamie) Miller. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Andy, and Danny (Erin) Dahn, Mitchell (Janna), Max (Jenny) and Elle Hammes; Andra Dahn; Grant, Ben, and Jack Miller; great-grandson, Adam Dahn; brother Kevin (Bonnie) Dahn and brother-in-law, C. J. Rateau; beloved family pets, Reggie, and Miley. Dick was preceded in death by his infant son, Brian; parents, Marlin, and Helen Dahn; sister, Mary Lee; brother Gary and Andy's wife, Mirra Dahn.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur and one hour prior to the services. A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 7 at the United Methodist Church in LeSueur with interment to follow in the LeSueur Mound Cemetery.
