Mildred 'Millie' E. Stevens, age 91, of Mankato, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Pastor Libby Englehorn officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of services at Woodland Hills Funeral Home.
Millie was born on August 14, 1925 to Phillip H. and Mildred J. (DeLackner) Weber in Queens (Astoria), NY. She graduated in 1943 from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY. In 1943 Millie was united in marriage to Edward Anderson. After their marriage Millie and Ed moved to Minnesota. They later divorced. In 1957 she was united in marriage to John Keller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They later divorced. For many years Millie was a hostess/waitress at the Century Club in Mankato, then as a bartender at the Stone Toad, Trader and Trapper and the Hanson House all in Mankato. In 1973 she was united in marriage to John F. Stevens in South Dakota. Millie and John owned and operated Carpet Care Inc. in Mankato where she was the office manager until their retirement in 2000. After their retirement they moved to Las Cruces, NM. In 2015 Millie and John moved back to Mankato to be closer to their family and friends. She enjoyed playing golf, walking, music, singing and dancing. Millie also had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John F. Stevens of Mankato; children, Linda (Richard) Noble of Katy, TX, Cary (Karen) Anderson of Tempe, AZ, Kristi Keller-Smith of Maple Grove, Vicki (Jim) Kwapick of Mahtomedi; step-children, Susanne (Randy) Hytjan of Lake Crystal, Nancy Stevens of Mankato, Katherine Rhee of Hillsboro, OR, John (Deb) Stevens of North Mankato; 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister June (Jack) Collins of FL; by many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward Anderson; son-in-law George Smith; step-son, Randy Keller; sister, Marilyn De Young; former husband's, Ed Anderson and John Keller.
