Maurice Benjamin Mether, 92, formerly of Mankato, died peacefully April 5, 2017, in Minneapolis, MN. Memorial service will be 1pm Saturday, June 24, at New Creation World Outreach Church, North Mankato, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service.
Maurice was born March 8, 1925, in Canby, MN. They had three children, Daniel, Steven and Rebecca. Maurice worked for the Western Guard paper in Madison, MN before moving to Mankato in 1966 to work as a printer for the Mankato Free Press until retiring in 1990.
Maurice is survived by two children, Daniel (Lill) Mether Mankato, MN; Rebecca (Clark) Worden, Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren, Melissa ( Dean) Olson, Mankato, MN; Julia (Jason) Allen, Woodstock, GA; Nate and Lyndsey Worden, Minneapolis, MN; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cody & Erin Olson; Daniel & McKenna Allen; Jacob, Alisha and Henry Stiele; two sisters, Lois Eilers and Lucille (Charles Clapp) Marshall, MN; three brothers, Don (Fern) Mether, Nassau, MN; Robert (Carol) Mether, Ivanhoe, MN; Loren (Ann) Terp, Cloquet, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, DeLoris, son Steven, brother in-law Iver Eilers and his parents.
