Mary Margaret Lenertz, 88, died July 14, 2017, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at Woodland Hills Chapel, Mankato. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mary was born July 27, 1928 in Sauk Centre, MN to N.J. and Marie (Moehring) Miller. She grew up and attended school in Sauk Centre. November 11, 1950 she married Fred Lenertz in Mankato. She was a cook for various places in the Mankato area and a farm wife for 8 years in Kilkenny and Morristown. She also worked at Onan in St. Peter. Mary loved to crochet, liked flower gardening, camping and fishing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by children, Linda (Lee) Lenertz, Mankato, Darlene (Darwin) Hawker, Eagle Lake, Teresa (Greg) Sack, Janesville, Kenneth (Kellie) Lenertz, Wells, David (Jean) Lenertz, Janesville, Michelle (Pat) Lenertz, Janesville; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Caroline Schalwig and her friend Lonnie, New Market; brothers, Val (Barb) Miller, LeSueur, Jullian (Jeanette) Miller, Belle Plain, Eugene (Elaine) Miller, Shakopee. She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, Ed and David.
