Mary "Madge" (Zins) Gronholz, 94 of Pillager, passed away on March 3, 2017. Mary was born on September 6, 1922 to Frank and Elizabeth (Schouviller) Zins. After graduating from Nicollet High School she worked for Mutual of Omaha in Milwaukee, WI. She continued working for Mutual of Omaha relocating to Minneapolis, MN.
Mary and James Gronholz where married on December 23, 1944 at St Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet, MN. Together they owned a hardware store in LeCenter, MN.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Linda of Breezy Point, MN, Debra (Crystal) of Pillager, MN, Jolene (Michael) of St. Anthony, MN, Paula of Pillager, MN and son, Curtis (Debra) of Nisswa, MN; one granddaughter; six grandsons; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; a daughter, Beata; her parents; sisters, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Beatrice and her brother, Joseph.
Mary loved her family and was a good friend to all she met. She loved to fish, play cards and pick berries.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa with Father Mike Patullo officiating. Visitation will begin the hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are preferred to Minnesota Special Olympics or Minnesota State Services for the Blind. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
