Lorraine Dahms, age 91, of Mankato, died March 14, 2017 at Water's Edge in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Michelle Hargrave officiating. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Friday.
Lorraine was born June 21, 1925 to Edwin and Grace (Amos) Holtz in rural Faribault County. She graduated from Huntley High School in 1943. Lorraine was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Dahms on January 5, 1945 in Huntley, MN. The couple moved to the Mankato area where she worked as a waitress for Town N' Country Café, the lunch counter at Green's Dime Store and later as a bookkeeper/manager at the Kato Ballroom before retiring.
Lorraine was a member of Centenary UMC. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, baking and volunteer work. She moved to Gus Johnson in 2001 and Water's Edge three years ago.
Survived by her two sons, Rodney (Sandy Jordan) Dahms and Randy (Sandy) Dahms both of Mankato; six grandchildren, Troy (Sara) Dahms, Tom (Jodi) Dahms, Eric (Joni) Sandwick, Tammi (Jason) Attenberger, Andy (Kyra) Dahms, Mandy (Adam) Benson; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry in 2000; daughter, Debbie; son, Ray; two sisters; daughter-in-law, Gayle.
