Age 94. Departed July 3, 2017. Born in Mangalore, India, Lawrence studied in New York at Fordham University, where he pursued a doctorate in teaching. It was there he met and married Judith (Korbuly), followed by accepting a teaching position in Michigan, and later in Minnesota. He was a professor in the department of Sociology at Mankato State University for 31 years, until his retirement in 2000. He had a great affinity for nature, enjoying gardening and woodworking in his free time. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and desire to make those around him laugh. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith, children Rosanne (Lindsay), John, Margaret (Ruocco), Christopher, and Joseph, as well as 8 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 13 from 1 - 4 pm in Minneopa State Park at the waterfall pavilion.
