John "Jack" Bruggeman was born on July 23, 1923 in Fairfax, MN to Lawrence J. & Mary (Huelskamp) Bruggeman. He grew up in Fairfax and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1941. After attending St. John's University he entered the U.S. Army in 1943. When he returned from the service he married Helen G. Nelson on September 25, 1946 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Jack entered into business with his father, Lawrence and brother, William in operating Bruggeman's John Deere. He and William owned and operated the business until his retirement in 1990. Following the death of his wife, Helen, he married Donna Rubey in 2002. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, hunting, bowling, fishing and going to the lake. Jack was a life time member of the Sleepy Eye Golf Club and a member of the VFW, St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Jack is survived by his children, John (Nancy) Bruggeman of St. Paul, Steve (Jean) Bruggeman of St. Cloud, Joe (Carol) Bruggeman of Sleepy Eye, Pat (Sue) Bruggeman of Sleepy Eye, David (Julie) Bruggeman of North Mankato, 12 grandchildren; Mychal (Sara) Bruggeman, Sean (Kayla) Bruggeman, Nick Bruggeman, Lauren Bruggeman, Josh Bruggeman, Sarah Bruggeman, Aaron Bruggeman, Andrea (Nate) Konkol, Amy (Jesse) Hoffmann, Alex Bruggeman, Andrew Bruggeman and Tyler Bruggeman, 6 great grandchildren and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Young of Chaska. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William (Virginia) Bruggeman, wife, Helen, wife, Donna and brother-in-law, Harold Young.
