Audrey Marie Roiger, age 81 of Eagle Lake, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at home with her loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be held at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel at 1605 Woodland Ave, Mankato, MN on Saturday, April 15, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a luncheon at the American Legion in Mankato.
Audrey was born January 25, 1936 in St. James, MN to William and Ida (Sandmeyer) Hanson. She attended high school in St. James. Audrey was united in marriage to Melvin Peter Roiger on July 9, 1955 at St. James Catholic Church. They made their home in Mankato, MN. Audrey was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Audrey enjoyed making embroidered pillow cases, birth certificates and baking for fundraisers for the different Veterans organization. Audrey was a culinary artist for numerous restaurants around the Mankato area. Her over all passion was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids along with her family. She was a past president of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary Forrest G. James Detachment #589, American Legion Auxiliary Lorenz Post 11, Mankato and Morson Ario Auxiliary Post 9713.
Audrey is survived by her sons, Allen and Randy Roiger; 3 grandchildren, Pamela (Jayme) Roiger-Joel, Sherry Roiger and Francisco Roiger II; 8 great grandchildren, Anthony (AJ) Roiger-Netzke, Luiz Carrasco, Katalina Kennedy, Bryan Roiger-Joel, Jaylinn Roiger-Joel, Marcos Kennedy and Dominic Kennedy; sisters and brothers, Ilene Carlson, Irene (Elwood) Wright, Marilyn (Joel) Nelson, Howard Hanson, Harlan (Arlene) Hanson, Gary Hanson, Joey (Robin) Hanson and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and William Hanson; son, Perry Roiger; grandson, Francisco Roiger; husband, Melvin Roiger and brother, Dennis Hanson.
