Adeline A. Carlson, 88, a resident of Mankato MN until her move to Northern Minnesota in 1996. Adeline died Tuesday December 20th 2016, at Bigfork Valley Aspen Circle Memory Care Unit in Bigfork, Minnesota, following a long and hard battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Interment will be at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Mankato, Mn at a future date.
Adeline donated her body to Mayo Clinic for education and research. The family plans a memorial service to honor her memory, when her remains are returned from Mayo Clinic.
Adeline was born in Hastings, MN in 1928 to Herbert and Minnie Volkert. She graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato in 1945 and worked for Pritchard Construction. Adeline also worked for Western Adjustment Company, and Peterson Accounting, retiring in 1991.
Adeline married Carl (Bud) Carlson in Northfield Mn, on September 12th 1948.
Survivors include her husband Carl "Bud" Carlson, her two sons, John (Sue) of Mankato MN, and Mark of Ocala Florida, and daughter Rita (Ed) and 3 grand daughters and 2 grandsons. Numerous nieces and nephews along with her many long time friends and acquaintances.
A Bedside Service was held at Aspen Circle the evening she died.
Adeline was a loving wife and a wonderful Mother to her Children. Adeline was a member of the Jessie Lake Lutheran Church where her Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
