William "Bill" Peters, age 77 of Mankato died Tuesday, July 9, 2019 peacefully at Oaklawn Health Care Center.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Northview~North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. Tuesday before the service at Northview.

William "Bill" Lee Peters was born June 13, 1942 in Mankato to Victor and Margaret (Rieff) Peters. Bill graduated from Nicollet High in 1960. He enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard and served six months active duty. He worked for Land O'Lakes and then worked for a short time as a custodian for South Central College. Bill married Marlene Enter on August 28, 1971 in Nicollet. Together they had two sons, Cory and Brady. They were later divorced. In 1985 Bill started Peters Lawn Service. He was happy to turn over ownership to his son Brady and was proud to continue to work with the company until his health forced him to stop working six weeks before his death.

Bill was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church, Nicollet County Conservation Club, and the Mankato Golf Club. He enjoyed a good card game, golf and socializing with friends.

Bill is survived by his son, Brady (Kelly) Peters of Mankato; two granddaughters, Eva and Ali Peters; four sisters, Sue (Jim) Kollmann of St. Peter, Mary (Phil) Zins of Golden Valley, Vicky Mohr of Sartell, Julie (Richard) Keller of Shakopee; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, son, Cory; brother, Michael
