Vernette "Nedi" Ruth Biehn, age 81, of West Lake Jefferson, died Friday, December 1, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at Marysburg Catholic Church in Madison Lake on Tuesday, December 5 at 11 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Marysburg Catholic Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Vernette Ruth Krohn was born on August 27, 1936 to Otto and Hertha (Enter) Krohn in St. Peter, Minnesota. She attended school in St. Peter and graduated in 1955. During her school years she was an avid swimmer and competed in many meets and won many medals. She also saved the life of a child at the pool from drowning. Vernette and Ramon "Mickey" Biehn were united in marriage on September 22, 1956 at Marysburg Catholic Church. Out of this union, six children were raised on the family farm, which is a third generation homestead farm in Washington Township. After Ramon died she remained on the farm. She was a member of Marysburg Catholic Church. Vernette enjoyed playing cards with all of her special card playing friends, going to the casino, traveling to the Black Hills in South Dakota, and she especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Vernette is survived by her children, Julie (Loren) Stauff, Cheri (Jeff) Haack, Lisa (Gerald) Tish, Kristin (Jeff) Wilde, Amy (Scott) Otto, and Brian Biehn; grandchildren, Lesley Holland, Lindsay (Jake) Powers, Matthew (Jill) Stauff, Justin Haack (special friend Kaylen Borseth), Brad (Korrina) Haack, Nate (Molly) Haack, Brandon (Crystal) Tish, Aaron (Nikki) Tish, Stephanie Wilde (fiancé Chris Seely), Nick Wilde, Cody Otto, and Courtney Otto; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Fellman of Herndon, Virginia and Leona Wass of Mankato; sister-in-law, Eunice Libaire of Osakis, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2009; brothers, Roy Krohn and Clayton Krohn; and sisters, Muriel Stoffregan and Marjorie Newman.
Mom will always be especially remembered for her Christmases and all the homemade candies, cookies, and hors d'oeuvres she made. We will miss you greatly, hugs from all of us- your loving children.
