Thomas "Bud" H. Zimmerman, age 92 of Mankato died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Pathstone Living.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Burial in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
Thomas H. Zimmerman was born June 14, 1925 in Mankato, MN to Henry and Estella (Thomas) Zimmerman. Tom graduated from Mankato High School and then served his country in the US Army during World War II in Italy. He received the Bronze Star for his action in battle. Tom also was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster. When Tom returned from the war he graduated from Mankato Commercial College. He worked as a TV repairman in the area for many years and worked at SM supply until he retired. During retirement he worked various jobs.
Tom enjoyed bowling, woodworking, riding bike, feeding birds, fishing, traveling to Mission TX for 21 years and most of all spending time with family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; three children, Bob (Lynn) Zimmerman of Libby, MT, Patty (Jerry) Marzinske, Sue (Dan) Goebel both of Mankato; three grandchildren, Chris Goebel, Anne (Jeffrey) Stocker, Ben Goebel; great-grandson, Hunter; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents.
