Theodore's Story

Theodore Paul Lischefska passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2017 after a lingering illness. Ted,as he was known, was just shy of his 93 rd birthday. He was born on October 22,1924 in Murray County Minnesota.
As a young man he proudly served his country wearing the Navy uniform. He served during WW II from 1943-1946. In 1950 he was reactivated and served in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952.
After discharge he returned to Minnesota and made Mankato his home. He was employed by Lundin Construction Company for 35 years where he made many lifelong friends. He loved to work outdoors and together with his wife Marion shared a passion for maintaining a beautiful home and garden. In 2013 they embarked on a new journey relocating to Deerfield Beach Florida, where they established a home and enjoyed meeting new friends. He will forever be remembered for his patience, soft spoken nature, kindness and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Marylou and son David. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Marion, daughter Diane McCoy/Alan Tulsa OK, stepdaughter Maxine Erickson/Robert Deerfield Beach, four grandchildren, sisters in law Agnes Buchert and Pearl Driscoll. A sincere thank you to his extended family nephews Al and Keith Buchert their wives Karen and Suzanne, Mike Driscoll his wife Joan, niece Cindi Kruse husband Tom, Patt Kelly Hall, grandnieces Katie Lupke husband Travis, Paula Buchert, Michelle Hilfiker husband Dan, grandnephew Captain Spencer Buchert wife Rachel for their care and concern over the past few months. To put it in his words he loved all of you immensely.
A Memorial Service will be held at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida at a later date.
