BrunswickSusan Mary Berberich, age 70, died at her home Sunday morning, November 19, 2017.
She was born, February 12, 1947 in Mankato, MN, a daughter of Robert and Anna Marie Mattson Muellerleile. She was a graduate of Loyola H.S., Mankato, and earned her C.L.A. from Alexandria Technical College, Alexandria, MN in 1967. She married Larry Berberich in Mankato, MN on October 7, 1967.
Being a Navy wife for 26 years and having degrees as a Certified Laboratory Assistant and Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, she was employed with several medical practices and hospitals throughout the country including Minnesota, Memphis,Tennessee, Leonardtown, Maryland and Mountain View, California. She was most recently the laboratory coordinator for Parkview Adventist Hospital, Brunswick, a position she retired from in 2003.
She had been an active participant in Prayer Shawl Ministry, as well as a Eucharistic minister for St. John's Catholic Church, of which she was a member. She loved quilting, sewing and needle work, and even shared her interest in photography with her family. Aside from her preference to be with family and friends and taking loving care of her home, she always looked forward to fishing for crappies and black bass on a lake or striped bass inshore.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Larry of Brunswick; a son, Brady Berberich and his wife Meghan of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Dr. Molly Berberich of Brunswick; a brother, Craig Muellerleile and his wife Cathy of Mankato, MN; sisters, Martha Stuve and her husband Larry of Circle Pines, MN, Cindy Ryan and her husband Thomas of Mankato, MN, Christine Hoffman and her husband Kurt of Park Rapids, MN; three grandchildren, Zoe and Carmin Berberich of Virginia Beach, Va, William Berberich of Brunswick; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church, Pleasant Street Brunswick.
