Steven Hed, age 61, of North Mankato, died on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center.
A private service to be determined at a later date.
Steven Dennis Hed was born on May 25, 1957 in Gaylord, MN. He was the son of Roselina and Roland Hed. He was a 1975 graduate of Mankato West High School. He was united in marriage to Pamela on May 4, 1980 in Mankato. Steven proudly served with the United States Army for almost 20 years. His service to our country brought his family around the world until his return to Mankato in 1996. He continued his service connection by being an active member of the DAV and Legion Post 518. While serving in the Army was his most notable accomplishment, his most proud would be his young grandchildren. They were the light of his life, especially in his last years. They kept him laughing, smiling and enjoying the smallest joys.
Steven is survived by his wife, Pamela (Possin), and his five children, Dan (Erin) Hed of Owatonna, Melissa (Troy) Garbes of North Mankato, Steve (Lisa) Hed of White Bear Lake, Tom (Nicole) Hed of Mankato and Stacy (Sam) Brunton of Mineral Ridge, Ohio and 16 grandchildren, Jordan, Gavin, Liam, Brynn, Brady, Colin, Kylie, Spencer, Aubree, Kaylee, Peyton, Sammy, Brenna, Maddie, Lucy, Emilie; siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason, and his parents.
We will remember his service, his spirit and the memories he gave our family.
