Sandra Marie Doran-Buhl, 72, of Winnebago, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at her home after a year long fight with pancreatic cancer. A visitation will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 Saturday, August 5th, at Brantley-Nelson Hayward Funeral Home in Hayward, WI. Graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake, WI.
Sandra was born September 5, 1944, to Vincent and Mary Zawistowski. She grew up in Stone Lake, WI, on her family's cranberry farm, where she loved to help her parents with their farm and other businesses. As a youth, she loved to ice skate, sing, and play piano. Sandra was an excellent student and loved to learn, graduating with Honors from Hayward High School in 1962. She moved to Chicago in 1962 and attended MacCormac Junior College and worked at several law firms over the years. While living in Chicago she met and married Don Doran and was blessed with three children, Donica, Sean, and Heather. She remarried in 1982 to Peter Buhl and was blessed again with a daughter, Chantalle. Over the years, Sandra and Peter worked together to build their business, 4x4 Truck and Auto Parts. Sandra enjoyed cooking, traveling, dancing, skating, skiing, gardening, playing piano, and listening to live music.
Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Peter Buhl; children Donica Doran of Mankato, Sean Doran of Minneapolis, Heather Doran of Winnebago, and Chantalle (Tony) Raimondi of Chicago, IL; brothers David (Irene) Zawistoski Sr. and Vaughan (Paul) Skille; sisters Patti Rogers, Linda (Scott) Skille, and Cindy (Keith) Hamer; grandsons Kadyn and Gavin. Sandra was preceded in death by her father Vincent Zawistowski, her mother Mary Skille, and her stepfather Norman Skille.
