Ruth M. Peterson
Ruth Peterson age 81 passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 peacefully at her home
after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
She was born March 28, 1936 in Wood Lake , MN to Herman and Lillian(Vahl) Mulenburg
Ruth graduated from Echo High School in in 1953.
She married the love of her life Al(Eldridge) Peterson at the Wood Lake Methodist Church on
January 22,1955 and moved to Jasper, Indiana. They lived in several places before moving to
Madeia in 1959 raising their daughter Brenda and son Terry.
Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia.
She was the organizer of the family always having everything in order. She was a Girl Scout Leader,
PEO, sewing, birthday club, and WELCA member. She told her grandchildren she had 10 jobs. Before retirement she worked at the school in ECFE. She loved working with the young parents and their children. Ruth was also an election judge.
She was an excellent card player and enjoyed her card playing friends. Ruth had so many talents
from helping Al remodel the cabin to being the best mom, grandma, and great grandma. She followed all her grandsons sporting activities through the years.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 62 years Al(Eldridge);daughter Brenda Ruch of New Ulm and Terry Peterson, special friend(Nancy Frederickson) of Madelia. Grandchildren Nick(Nikki) Ruch, Tony(Kayla) Ruch, Paul Ruch, special friend(Korynn Fischer),Kendall Peterson,special friend( Brooke Honek). Great grandchildren Lane, Damian, Boyd, Harper, and Vera. Sister Gladys(Gordon) Carity, brother in law Gary(Alice)Peterson ,sister-in-laws Bette Kochanski, Phyllis Berggren, and Jeri Peterson
Funeral services for Ruth will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 23,2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church
In Madelia. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday June 23,2017 and 1 hour prior to services on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Cremation arrangements by the Mankato Mortuary.
