Ronald F. Wright, age 86 of Mankato died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Laurels Peak in Mankato.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to the SCHOLA Foundation, (The Haefner Scholarship Fund).
Ronald Francis Wright was born April 18, 1931 to Roy and Anna (Ray) Wright in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Loyola High School in 1949 and then graduated from Mankato Teachers College. Ron was united in marriage to Dolores Haefner on September 6, 1952 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato.
Ron was a teacher and coach at Loyola High School in Mankato for over 40 years. He taught economics and social studies. He took several teams from Loyola to the State Economics Challenge. Ron coached basketball, football and golf. After he retired Ron enjoyed working part-time at Terrace View golf course. He was a lifetime member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and past member of Knights of Columbus. Ron enjoyed golf, cards and reading.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dolores; five children, Susan (Dan) Duffy of Mankato, Debbie (Steve) Byrne of Mankato, Michael (Ann) Wright of Mankato, Patti (Bill) Vogel of Pickerington, OH, Kevin (Connie) Wright of Mankato; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Cody) Rauchman, Sarah (Jake) Rademacher, Elaine (Nick) Wise, Cassandra (Bill) Bowser, Jane (Justin) Ek, Jessica Vogel, Courtney Vogel, Jenny Wright, and Haley Wright; eleven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, George.
