Roger Lee "Elvis" Flynn, 64, of Mankato, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Mankato. A Celebration of Roger's Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment with military honors will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Roger was born January 15, 1953 in Mankato to Richard and Helen (Luna) Flynn. He grew up and attended school in Mankato. He served in the Marines from 1971 to 1975 and then served a number of years in the National Guards. On October 12, 2006 he married Brenda Whitman in Mankato. He worked construction in Mankato for many years and also worked at downtown Hy-Vee as a stock person and also in the bakery. Roger loved music and was an Elvis Tribute singer. He was very meticulous about the way he kept his yard. He loved his GTO Judge car almost as much as his hair. He enjoyed football and making "the goodies" for his family. Roger was also currently making a replica of the Alamo.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Paul (Heidi) "Flynn" Olson and Anthony Flynn all of Mankato; grandchildren, Alysa, Nevaeh, Grace, Christopher, Matthias, Simeon and Malachi; brothers and sisters, Gloria (Keith) Danberry, Sheila (David) Weaver, Ron (Linda) Flynn, all of Mankato; Rick (Annette) Flynn, Bloomington, MN; Rita (Stan) Christ, Springfield, MO; step daughter, Linda (Tim) Guetschow, Mankato; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Mata, Richard Flynn, Jr. and Randy Flynn; sisters, Lida Ferguson and Nancy Reich.
