As a Campus Lutheran alumni, I haven't seen Pastor Glade since about the early 70's, but this photo of him late in his life emanates the humanity, love and grace he shared with thousands of college students while at Campus Lutheran. His example incited many to go into the ministry and both he and Pat were just the right combination to keep errant college students attending church several times a week! The fact that he continued his ministry overseas just shows what a caring and COOL guy he was....

Pastor Glade married me and baptized my 3 daughters. I left the Mankato area in 1972 and returned 2 years ago. I went to a service at Hosanna and saw his picture on the wall. I knew the God had directed me to Hosanna. Pastor Glade was a beautiful man with a wonderful sense of humor. I know where to find you Pastor. I'll see you later.

Gene was the one who taught me that God is not my judge and jury but my Savior. He was a marvelous man in word and deed. He was an inspiration in my life. And Pat was always there in the background facilitating his work.

God's blessings of mercy, comfort and peace to you, Pat, Kim, Dana, Nathan and families. My dear, dear Pastor Glade. Mere words cannot express the impact he has had on my life and my Christian faith life from the time I was a very young little girl, till now, and will continue to do so until I meet him again some day in Heaven. There is rarely a day that goes by that I do not think of him. In two places in my home there are gifts from him--the word "SHALOM" made with golden colored nails. One was a gift for my graduation and the other a gift for my wedding. And how honored we all were when Pastor Glade spoke at my dad's (Bob De Witte) funeral back in 2010. My dad and Pastor Glade always e...njoyed their time together, whether it was serving together at Trinity Lutheran Church, or hunched over the engine of a car. Pastor Glade lived love for Jesus. Jesus shone thru Pastor Glade's life--a life of GRACE.
With much love,
Mary Gwen Marquardt
