Rev. Norman Walter Heidorn joined the Church Triumphant on October 14, 2017. He was born to his wonderful parents Rev. Walter and Emma Heidorn (Rittmueller) on April 15, 1926. He grew up in Elmore, Minnesota with his two brothers, Larry and Paul.
Norman joined the Marines in 1944 and fought to serve our country in the south Pacific as a demolitions expert in the Marines in WWII. He valued his service to this country!
After being ordained in 1952, he served congregations in Jamison and Burton, Nebraska; Trimont, Minnesota and Our Savior's Lutheran Church for 30 years in Mankato, Minnesota. He was always a pastor and led his flock for his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Rev. Walter and Emma Heidorn, his wife and mother of his children Jean (Gudahl), his second wife Doris (Durkee), a brother, Lawrence and his wife Alberta Heidorn.
He is survived in death by those who loved him including his three blessed children Gregory (Wylene) Heidorn, Jon (Janene) Heidorn and Elizabeth Heidorn (Tim Mason). He adored his grandchildren Danaca (Thor), Seth (Audrey), Peter (Bridget), Johanna, Gretchen, Ethan and Ellie and was able to spend time with his first great grandson Tyson Jon.
Thanks be to God.
