Burial will be at the Union Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at church. Please share a memory of Norma with her family online at www.mankatomortuary.com.
Norma was born October 14, 1926 in Storm Lake, IA to William Fredrick and Wanda Leona (Berkler) Webb. She graduated as valedictorian from Mapleton High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Everett "Beaner" Blaisdell on April 10, 1945 in Mankato. She helped Beaner on the farm for many years before later earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Mankato State University. A gifted seamstress, cook, and teacher, she taught Home Economics in Waldorf for over 20 years and was also the first lady school bus driver in Minnesota. On September 1, 1994, she married LeRoy Baack.
Norma was exceptionally generous, wise, classy, and creative. Whether it was sewing, quilting, crewel work, or cooking, Norma's hands were never idle. She taught her family the importance of managing money and eating a healthy diet. Norma's welcoming and loving nature was appreciated by everyone she knew. She was a longtime member of the United Church, 4-H, TOPS, Weight Watchers, Sertoma Club, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Arlyn) Grussing of Bloomington; grandchildren, Dan (Trinh Hong) Grussing of Irvine, CA, Ginna (Roberto Fonts) Grussing of Bloomington, David (Beth) Grussing of Victoria, and Brian Grussing of Bloomington; great-granddaughters, Maren, Addie, Charley, and Ruby; brother, Bill (Carol) Webb of Lake Crystal; nieces and nephews, Brad (Barbara) Webb, Brian (Arlene) Webb, Becki (Dave) Becker, and Bob (Jess) Webb; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and Renata Russo, Italian foreign exchange student, who was like a daughter.
