Mary Ingaborg (Hennis) Moore, age 56, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her friends and family. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Zilber Hospice in Milwaukee, WI.
She was born October 10, 1960 in Madelia, MN to Arnold and Jeannette (Mickelson). She was a 1988 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She met and fell in love with her special friend Alfred Moore. She worked as the former Director of Counseling at The Women's Center in Milwaukee, WI, displaying a wonderful knack for solving problems and caring for those who were hurting. Prior to that, Mary worked at Lad Lake, working with mentally ill teen boys, greatly affecting change in many hearts. Mary could also be found lobbying with legislation, changing many laws that affect change for women. Mary truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, and enjoyed time with her family and friends. Mary had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way and helped many individuals reach their full potential through her ability to touch others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Jeannette (Mickelson) Hennis. She is survived by her special friend, Alfred Moore; brothers Gary Hennis, Brian (Diane) Hennis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Mary touched are invited to Hooligans, 1400 Madison Avenue, Mankato, MN from 3-5pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and celebrate the great life of Mary I. Hennis Moore.
