Lorraine Muriel (Vee) Ellanson, 95, passed away May 24, 2017, at The Beacon at Lake Crystal.
Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska with Pastor Sarah Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Linden Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hanska.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at church on Saturday.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Lorraine was born to Theodore and Tina (Strom) Vee on the family farm in Linden Township, rural Hanska, on September 10, 1921, the third of seven children. She attended school in District 38, rural Hanska, through the eighth grade. At barely 18 years of age, her mother passed away and Lorraine raised her younger siblings, especially her 11-year-old sister and 7-year-old brother. She worked at neighboring households, and at Hormel in Austin for a short time.
On October 3, 1947, Lorraine was united in marriage to Arnold Ellanson at the Lake Hanska Parsonage, rural Hanska. Lorraine and Arnold farmed in rural Lake Crystal until moving into town in 1968. She was a homemaker her entire married life. She continued to live in their home following Arnold's death. She moved to The Beacon in December, 2015.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Ronald (Barbara) Ellanson, Rochester; Rosanne (Gary) Altenburg, Vernon Center; Rosmary (Lyman) Nuss, Dorrance, Kansas, and Rosalyn (Michael) Chamberlen, Madelia; 11 grandchildren, Matthew (Carol) Ellanson, Brain Ellanson, Timothy (Tammy) Altenburg, Scott (Kristin) Altenburg, Sara (Scott) Larson, Edward (Bobbi) Connell, Michael (Teresa) Connell, Katy (Chris) Ivey, Larissa (Brad) Ward, Jennifer (Kevin) Friedrichs and Kristopher (Mindy) Chamberlen; 28 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Beatrice (Robert) Schwingler, Darwin; brother, Harlan Vee, Mankato; brother-in-law, Arthur Ellanson, Glencoe; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; sisters, Vera Larson and Jeanette Rusten; brothers, Ordell and Arvid; brothers-in-law, Hans Ellanson, Alvin Ellanson, Marvin Ellanson, Orville Larson, Jack Rusten, Arthur Sandberg, Leonard Sandberg, Walter Sandberg; sisters-in-law, Monica Vee, Janice Vee, Mabel Sandberg, Clara Sandberg, Pearl Sandberg; Marjorie Ellanson, and Linnea Ellanson.
